Wrought in the Port offers a number of useful services ranging from the design and manufacture of bespoke gates and railings to simple, everyday repairs. Whatever you need, please get in touch - we can almost certainly help!

Design - It doesn't matter if you haven't got a fixed plan. Even if you just have an idea about what you might want then we can help you turn it into something special. If you have got no ideas at all then we can still help as we've got lots of designs to choose from and we're happy to customize any of them to suit your requirements. 

Manufacture - All our items are handmade in the workshop using the best available materials. Our steel suppliers are long-established and we regularly check the quality of our wrought iron components to ensure that our customers are getting the best. Our excellent reputation has been built on our attention to detail as well as our friendly, reliable service.

Installation - for customers within 25 miles of Ellesmere Port we offer a fitting service for gates and railings. If you would prefer to carry out your own installation then we are happy to offer advice. We can also re-hang existing gates following driveway modifications and fit gates made or bought elsewhere; just call with the details and we'll be happy to give you a quotation.

Powder Coating - Our products can be professionally powder-coated to give a long-lasting, high-quality finish. Power-coating can be applied to bare or galvanized steel and many different colours and effects are available - please ask for further details. Wet-spraying is also possible upon request.

Galvanizing - Bare steel can be hot-dip galvanized to prevent it from rusting. For more information about the galvanizing process you can watch the video at the bottom of this page. Please note that if your item is galvanized then it will not be as smooth as untreated steel! The galvanizing process requires the product to be dipped in a bath of molten zinc which forms a protective coating on top of the steel. The items are 'fettled' afterwards to remove any large spikes or crusts of zinc but some roughness is inevitable - it is considered to be an acceptable trade-off for an extended life expectancy with minimal maintenance.

Restoration - We have been involved in several important restoration projects for Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, The Boat Museum, Chester Cathedral and the Countryside Rangers.

Refurbishment - We offer a refurbishing service for customers who would prefer to keep their existing ironwork. Gates, railings and furniture can be given a new lease of life with shot-blasting, galvanizing and powder-coating treatments. Aluminium and cast iron products can also be shot-blasted and powder-coated. You can choose a different colour to fit in with a new garden scheme or have the same colour again to make them look as good as new. Repairs - We are often asked to carry out repairs to metal products. Please don't be embarrassed - no job is too small :-)
